As you come out of the Mubarak Mahal the next thing to see is the Chandra Mahal, This seven story building served as the residence of the ruler. Each of the floors of the Chandra Mahal has a different name. When you enter this part of the city palace of Jaipur, the first thing that you view are relics and artifacts dating back to the 15th century. This occupies the ground and the first floor of the Chandra Mahal. Get a glimpse of the royal dining and drawing area as you enter the 'sukh Nivas? of the palace. Next enter a world of mirrors,the 'shova Niwas? or the hall of beauty was the royal dressing area. The gilded works and the beautiful carvings are worth a look. The ?Chavi Niwas? on the 6th floor offers a panoramic view of the garden area and the city of Jaipur. The top floor is known as the Crown building or the ?Mukt Mahal?.
You can view exclusive weapons and artifacts of the 15th century in the museum. A section of this museum of Jaipur also houses the royal outfits worn by the rulers. The Badai Mahal lies opposite to the Chandra Mahal in the Jaipur City palace. In between these two palaces lies the Govind Devji Temple. This temple too is worth a visit.
